The main goal of Burgas International Film Festival is to develop a sustainable platform for presentation of feature and documentary movies by acquainting the audience with the modern cinema art of the Black Sea countries (Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Turkey and Greece).

The mission of The Festival is to turn Burgas into cultural venue of filmmakers and movie fans from the aforementioned countries.

The main scope of the Festival is to present the current trends in the Bulgarian and international cinema practice and to provoke intercultural dialogue.

The third edition will be held from 20th till 27th of July at Open-air stage“The Snail”, “Sea Casino” Cultural center, St. Anastasia island.

Pippo Mezzapesa is an italian film director and screenwriter. His short films have been well received from the movie critics and has been presented all over the world. In 2004 Pippo Mezzapesa wins the Davide di Donatelo award for his short film Zinana. He is the autor of the feature and documentary movies such as: La giornata; Punuccio Lovero Yes I Can; Annalisa.

His artistic career starts with the short film 105th. In 2009 he completes his first feature film The Conflict Zone, and in 2015 The Summer of Frozen Fountains which receives a numerous awards and nominations from festivals like: Sofia Film Fest, Sochi Film Festival, Thalin Black Night Film Festival, San Fransisco Film Festival, Shanghai and others. In 2016 the movie was a part of the BIFF official selection.

Pawel Kita is a marketing manager with more than fourteen years experience. During his activities with leading companies from Central and Eastern Europe region, he successfully accomplished a nomerous marketing projects in countries like Poland, Roumania, Austria and others. Currently he works for the company Canon Cee – a worldwide innovator in the  field of cinema and photography. His big passions are cinema, jazz music and playing guitar.

Anna Goranova is a Bulgarian editor and director who has worked eight years for Bulgarian National Television. In 2012 she was nominated for Best Documentary Director by the Bulgarian Film Academy for her documentary about the playwright Ivan Radoev, The Poet Shoots in His Heart. She is the editor of the Bulgarian feature film Crazy Day and director and editor of documentary series ETNO, exploring communities of different cultures, religions, and traditions. Last 4 years, Anna has been working as a film professional in MN, USA.
